Our goal is to provide students with a positive experience in music education. We encourage an appreciation of music and musicians and foster a desire to play to the best of their ability.
McKinney Guitar Studio uses various study materials developed by John Wynn. These include "Playing the Guitar" method book 1 and 2, the "Fingerstyle Sketches Series 1-10", the "Ensemble Studies", the "Classical Repertoire" book 1 and 2, "Igniting the Blues", and various solo guitar arrangements by John Wynn and other artists.

Students are also introduced to different genres of music through discussion and listening. The studio hosts workshops on a regular basis which encourage group participation and help develop the necessary skills for playing in a band/ensemble.
