Workshops offered at McKinney Guitar Studio

Holiday Music - This class features holiday favorites written for beginners as well as more advanced students. Duets are also included. Music is in standard notation.

Igniting the Blues - This class introduces easy blues chords and scales with both rhythm and soloing. Students will be given the opportunity to improvise and play with others. Music is in standard notation.

Fingerstyle Folk Songs - This class features “Campfire Favorites” and many other popular songs. The arrangements are simplified and presented in both standard notation and TAB.

Fingerstyle Sketches - This class will present studies in technique covering a wide variety of styles for the fingerstyle guitarist. Music is in standard notation and TAB.

Acoustic Fingerstyle Guitar Workshop – This class covers the basics; introducing the guitar to beginners and offering an introduction to the many styles of playing including strumming and fingerpicking.

Beatles for Breakfast - This class introduces solo arrangements of Beatles music. Music is in standard notation and TAB.

Music Theory for Beginners - This class covers the rudiments of music and basic theory in a very “user friendly” manner.

Building Chords and Scales - This class goes into more detail about chord families, progressions in songs, Major scales and exercises in reading. Music is in standard notation.

Sacred Music for Solo Guitar - This class offers arrangements of many timeless hymns for the solo guitarist. Music is in standard notation.

Ensemble Classes - This class will offer the student the opportunity to interact with other guitarists, reading parts and performing in a very comfortable setting as a group. Music is in standard notation.
